INDOSAT 3G & GT Max Option 3.6 Mbps HSDPA DataCard

== Background ==
Due to (As) 24 Hours Network Engineer, I should equip my self with any of instance & mobility internet connection. You know what can I do at 22:00 in the night while our support called & need assitance even immediate action, while Warnet Owner close their last door ?.
This is a mandatory for service to be delivered as SLA defined.
My choice goes to Indosat 3.5G Technology (Matrix Number), which a bit different with INDOSATM2 Broadband though coming from the same group.
Mouth to mouth spread information, this 3.5G connection is pretty good in Speed.
Better than tradisional 3G, GPRS too far behind the race.
But truely I never want to have that ‘fast’ speed tested !. No Way.
Why ? My subscription is Volume Base :)).
Anyway, yes I did once before.
Of course it’s not mine, my friend’s.
International Speed Test, I got 1.7 Mbps using this 3.5 Broadband.
== UPDATED JUNE 3, 2008 ==
I got my DUMeter shows 1.2 Mbps for high traffic last night. (3G Speed Reality).

Well refer to above reasons, I took 1 Gbps Volume.
I’m not sure If I can have remain couple Mbps of volume at the end of month or Over Volume 
What I’m gonna do is :
- Using Webmail as much I can
- Warn my ‘internet’ family not to open any web with more ‘content’ on it.
- Lock internet connection by password key (good one :))
== The set up ==
1. Insert Globe Trotter DataCard
2. Install Globe Trotter Driver (from CD) and Globe Trotter Connection Manager
3. Insert SIMCard into DataCard
4. Configure Connection Manager, just fill
username : indosat
password : indosat
APN : indosat3g
5. Wait for Network to be ready & registered to INDOSAT
6. Once Ready, get Connect.
7. Done.
== Issue ==
From last night, when Opening Globe Trotter Connection Manager, and the SIMCard inserted.
Why the system said always no network.
And I have to wait for at least 15-20 minutes to have this SIMCard registered to INDOSAT either 3G or HSDPA Network.
I’m afraid this can be even worst situation if I need to remote my network Immediately as our Network Monitoring Admin confirm that action needed to be conducted should the problem is not an easy one.
Or it might my Globe Trotter issue ?
== The Result ==
Once I got connected, even in Bekasi (Bintara) I Can have two bars of HSDPA from INDOSAT 3.5G Mobile Network. Please be informed, if you are using mail client for retrieving mail, ch ange your SMTP Server to : smtp.mystarone.com port 25 (though this belong to StarOne, it should work fine).
Pretty good in House signal.
The latency to gateway arround 230-250 ms with idle traffic.

Saya coba instal modem 3g option gt max 3.6 express di notebook HP 2133 di o/s windows vista..
terdetek dan terinstal (tanpa provokasi error) terliha pd device mgr, ok.
Ttp, tidak pernah sukses waktu connect dg dialer-nya. ( device found, wait shile initializing…)
..belum sampai tahap masukin pin simcard-nya.
Sy juga sudah coba instal at&t comm manager-nya (hasil donlod), namun tak ada bedanya…”no wireles s device detect”
Kalo tdk berkeberatan, pls advice-nya pak.

Salam kenal juga.
Waitnya nya memang agak lama Option.
Saya punya setelah device found, search network pun harus nunggu.
Baru kemudian muncul registered to INDOSAT.
Itu saja membutuhkan waktu +- 5 menit.
Tapi setelah connect , disconnect dan re-connect lagi cepat.
Saya belum tahu fenomena yang ini gimana untuk solvenya.
Karena terkadang urgent action perlu detik itu juga.. bila ada problem yang harus di remote.
Kalo dicoba di laptop yang lain bagaimana Pak ?

Halo Om,
Kalo sering dirumah, pakai fastnet cukup memenuhi kebutuhan remote dan harganya cukup murah. Mungkin untuk extreme dan paranoid mode, kita bisa punya beberapa macam koneksi in case salah satu unavailable just in the time we needed the most.

Akhirnya ketemu di blog..
Iya, Fastnet lum available di Rumah ku euy..
Kebetulan ambo sering jalan dan suka ada perubahan2 di jaringan..
Lumayan membantu..
Kebetulan 1.5 GB nya 100 ribu 3 bulan pertama… dibulan ke 4 jadi 300 ribu.
(Cuma dah hampir sebulan kepakai 500 MB saja, mungkin perlu downgrade :))

Thanks info smtp starone nya pak, yg bikin saya kaget ternyata bapak tinggal di dekat rumah saya, saya di bintara 9,bekasi.
saya pake modem pcmcia saja yg koneksinya cuman maks 1.8 Mbps, toh saya langganan isat eco yg 100 rb/ bulan unlimited, jadi speednya juga dibatesin ama indosat 256 kbps maks nya..

hai, gimana sih cara setting modem option buat koneksi indosatm2 ? kok kaga detek terus asik keluar pesan “your service provider was not lawful blalbalba”

sejak 05 Jan 2010 semuanya gak bisa di pake untuk kirim email….muncul “sending server not found” (sebelumnya bisa) ada yg bisa bantu??/

Saya sudah dak pakai smtp.mystarone.com lagi, bahkan smtp yang lain diatas disebutkan pun sudah lama dak bisa dipakai :(. Saat ini pakai smtp ISP sendiri…

saya punya dua koneksi satu pake adsl dan yang satunya pake indosat broadband, saya kesulitan untuk setting out going indosat broad band bagai mana ya caranya ? tolong dibantu terimakasih.

Pak Ridwan, smtp server indosat sudah tidak bisa dipakai lagi.
Bp. coba call ke Customer Service nya untuk smtp yang terbaru… saat ini sayapun pakai smtp sendiri dengan auth.

Saya minta bantuan untuk setting outgoing SMTP untuk starone karena kalau pkek smtp.indosat.net.id sya tidak bisa kirim email, sdgkan email masuk, bisa sya terima. Mohon bantuannya untuk setiting outlook ini. Terima kasih
